Here is some resources to learn ASL both free and with membership. #ASL

ASL is a language that is rich and can be hard to figure out where to start especially if you are new and are wanting to give it a chance. Below are some links as well as videos with an excerpt on what to expect to find the right website for your ASL learning needs.

Sign Language 101

Sign Language 101 is a site that provides the basics of ASL learning for free with videos to explain about the ASL sign and terminology with different courses available. The first course is free and if you want to fully develop your ASL learning skills they have a membership as well.

Start ASL

Start ASL is a website where you can learn about ASL with courses, blogs about ASL, and more to learn all about ASL and what it encompasses. It also links you to a community and tutors who use ASL and allow you to meet others who are learning ASL or are already apart of the ASL and Deaf community.

ASL Connect

ASL Connect was developed from the one of the only liberal arts university for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the world. This cite that they created allowed the spread of learning of sign language for those who are interested as well as other things related to being deaf with something called Deaf Studies as well. This website is also apart of the Gallaudet University website which is the University for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing where you can find more information about their history and what they offer to those both Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Hearing.

ASL Videos

Here is a YouTube channel (Learn How To Sign) that has videos about ASL and this video shows you 25 signs to know if you are learning ASL.

Here is another YouTube channel (Bill Vicars) that shows ASL with a variety of ASL level courses depending on your expertise in ASL.

Finally here is a video I made on ASL. It includes resources on what ASL is, why it's important to those who use it, and where to learn ASL for yourself.

Summary

Here I only listed a few ASL courses and links to learn how to sign but there are so many more sites and videos to be discovered in learning ASL. ASL is a growing language in those who are wanting to learn it and it growing and developing like any culture or language. Just note that it is something worth learning and it can be quite rewarding just like learning any language.
